Hussein al-Sheikh, the Palestinian civil affairs minister, told the Al-Jazeera news channel on Thursday that Palestinian Authority is in dissolution of the agreements with the Israeli side emanating from the Oslo agreement. In a follow-up tweet, al-Shaikh said that Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas is going to deliver a "historic speech" before the League of Arab States in Cairo on Saturday. He said he hopes the Arab and Islamic nations will support the Palestinian position. Mr. Al-Sheikh is a close aide to President Abbas, and is responsible for communications with Israel.

The statement was part of Palestine’s response to US President Donald Trump’s announced Middle East Peace Plan, which has been strongly rejected by Palestinians.
