Party leader attends tree planting festival, pays tribute to ancestors during Ninh Binh visit
(VOVWORLD) - Party General Secretary To Lam emphasized that as Vietnam is one of the countries worst hit by climate change, tree planting and forest protection in association with the "green economy" are not only crucial for restructuring the growth model based on "green infrastructure" development but also for promoting ecological civilization.

Mr. Lam was speaking at a ceremony in Ninh Binh province on Friday to launch the 2025 Spring Tree Planting Festival on the occasion of the Lunar New Year Festival (Tet).
"Authorities at all levels should roll out diverse, practical, and engaging measures to promote the tree planting festival. It is essential to highlight the festival’s significance, the great benefits of tree planting and afforestation, and their long-term humanistic value,” he noted.
The Party leader called for efforts to encourage the community’s participation in green initiatives and enhance public awareness, and for effective solutions on forest protection and the prevention of wildfires and illegal logging.
The same day, Mr. Lam offered incense at the temples dedicated to Kings Dinh Tien Hoang, Le Dai Hanh, Ly Thai To and Tran Nhan Tong in Ninh Binh.
The Party chief and his entourage pledged to work alongside the entire Party, army, and people in upholding the revolutionary spirit and patriotic tradition of the nation, overcoming challenges, fulfilling the goals set forth by the 13th National Party Congress, and propelling Vietnam into a new era - the era of national rise.
