The book systematically organizes the Party leader’s more than 80 articles, speeches, interviews, letters, and messages, vividly reflecting his diplomatic activity over the past two decades.

The book is divided into three parts including the crucial role and significant contribution of foreign affairs in national construction and defense; Vietnam’s foreign affairs for independence, self-reliance, peace, friendship, cooperation, and development; and the imprint of Vietnam’s foreign affairs and diplomacy.

Speaking at the event, permanent member of the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat Truong Thi Mai affirmed that the book serves as a compass for the Communist Party of Vietnam and as the theoretical and practical foundation for Vietnam’s foreign affairs in the new situation.

The book also emphasizes that Mr. Trong and the Party always value foreign affairs as an important driving force for national construction and defense, she said.

For international friends, the book provides valuable information on the Party and State’s foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, peace, cooperation and development, diversification and multilateralization of relations, active and proactive international integration, and being a friend, a reliable partner, and a responsible member of the international community, according to Ms. Mai.

"The book also strongly demonstrates the consensus, support, and encouragement from the people, as well as the National Assembly deputies, politicians, and foreign scholars towards Vietnam’s foreign affairs,” she said.

Ms. Mai, who also heads the Party Central Committee’s Organization Commission, asked relevant agencies to translate the book into foreign languages to help international friends better understand its value and Vietnam’s foreign policy.

In addition to the printed version, the National Political Publishing House also launched the electronic version of the book, available for free on its website: www.stbook.vn
