At the meeting, the provincial leaders emphasized that the annual meeting mechanism is contributing promoting relations between the two Parties, the two countries and the People of Vietnam and China.

Import-export turnover between the four border provinces of Vietnam and Yunnan province last year totaled 2.34 billion USD, in which Ha Giang-Yunnan trade amounted to 227 million USD.

The common perceptions reached at last year’s meeting have been well implemented. Exchange, cooperation and direct delegation exchange activities between sectors and organizations of the two sides have been comprehensively promoted.

Leaders of the five provinces agreed to maximize the annual meeting mechanism, strengthen friendly exchange activities; enhance economic, trade and investment cooperation; and accelerate cross-border e-commerce cooperation.

They stressed the need to boost cooperation in border gate development and traffic connections; border management, cross-border labor management; and enhance exchanges and cooperation in culture, sports and tourism, among others.
