Party, State, NA leaders meet voters after the 14th NA’s first session

(VOVworld) – On Wednesday, the Party, National Assembly and State leaders met with voters to report to them the results of the first session of the 14th NA and listen to their opinions and concerns.

While meeting with voters in Ha Tinh province, Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue said Vietnam has set a target of sustainable development of three pillars - economics, society, and environment - in the next 5 years. The Deputy Prime Minister said it is essential to review and complete regulations on environmental protection, and make a more strict and cautious assessment of the environmental impacts when licensing new projects.

The same day, Vo Van Thuong, Head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Communication and Education,  and NA deputies of Dong Nai province met with voters in the districts of Nhon Trach and Long Thanh. The voters said they hope that the newly-elected National Assembly will fully exercise its supreme supervisory right, and legislation and make decisive, important policies for the nation in the coming time. They also applauded the success of the 1st session of the 14th National Assembly, which accomplished a lot of work, especially electing high-ranking State personnel for the next term. Regarding the Permanent Court of Arbitration (PCA)’s ruling of the lawsuit between the Philippines and China on the East Sea issue, the voters stressed the need for the central agencies to compile and make public documents on the PCA’s ruling.

National Assembly Vice Chairman Uong Chu Luu had a meeting with voters in Tho Xuan, Trieu Son, Yen Dinh, and Thieu Hoa district, Thanh Hoa province. The voters said they hoped that the 14th National Assembly deputies will always listen to and reflect the voters’ ideas and aspirations to the authorized agencies. Mr. Luu said all the voters’ recommendations and opinions will be collected and submitted to the National Assembly and relevant agencies for consideration.

On Wednesday, Pham Minh Chinh, Head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Organization, met with voters in Ha Long and Cam Pha city. President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Nguyen Thien Nhan met voters in Tra Cu district, Tra Vinh province.
