Pentagon warns Taliban of 'responses' if violence continues in Afghanistan
(VOVWORLD) - The US military in Afghanistan has warned the Taliban against continuing violence, saying further attacks would lead to “responses.”

US Forces-Afghanistan spokesperson Colonel Sonny Leggett wrote in a letter to Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid that all sides must return to the political path. Afghans should sit down now and begin talking about the future of Afghanistan together, Leggett added.
The letter was sent out as the Taliban launched a series of attacks over the last week, the first of the holy Islamic month of Ramadan, killing 17 civilians and injuring another 49.
Last Tuesday, General Scott Miller, leader of the US and NATO troops in Afghanistan, also warned against consequences for increased violence.
