The implementation of open-door policies coupled with the Doi Moi (Renewal) process over the past 35 years has driven sustainable economic growth in Vietnam, he told Vietnam News Agency in a recent interview.

Morelli said Vietnam is not alone in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic, as it is a global issue, and that health authorities in both countries have taken steps to mitigate the epidemic while hurrying to roll out vaccinations.

Morelli acknowledged that it is important to balance public health and economic development and said that Vietnam and Peru, as emerging economies, should promote multilateralism and globalization to ensure they can participate in global supply chains.
