(VOVWORLD) -The private economy is the core force that creates wealth and material, makes important contributions to economic growth, creates jobs, and improves labor productivity, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said on Wednesday.

Chairing the second meeting of the Steering Committee for the development of the private economic project, Prime Minister Chinh said the current situation in Vietnam requires breakthrough tasks to develop the country's economy, adding many private enterprises have grown strongly, affirmed their brands, and reached out to the world market. He proposed changing mindset, arousing confidence, and creating new momentum to develop the private economy:
"It’s necessary to create smooth mechanisms, remove cumbersome procedures, cut down on unnecessary administrative procedures. Do not cause inconvenience for people and businesses to develop the private economy. Minimize the compliance costs, possibly reduce administrative procedures according to the roadmap set by the Government."
The Prime Minister also proposed promoting science and technology, innovation, digital transformation, green transformation, sustainable business in the private economy. He called for fostering connections between private enterprises, building business ethics, and enhancing social responsibility.
