PM focuses on export, investment and consumption as three growth drivers

(VOVWORLD) -Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has requested a focus on carrying out tasks and solutions aimed at removing difficulties for production and business activities, while simultaneously promoting three growth drivers, including export, investment, and consumption.

Chairing an online regular meeting between the Government and localities on Saturday, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said that the meeting is held after the successful midterm meeting of the Party Central Committee and when the 5th session of the 15th National Assembly is underway.

The Government has recently sent 25 delegations to localities to urge production, business, public investment, infrastructure construction and trade, he said.

A report presented at the meeting said Vietnam’s socio-economic performance in May was positive with stable macro-economy and major balances ensured.

The average consumer price index (CPI) in five months increased 3.5%. The currency market was basically stable. Trade surplus totaled 9.8 billion USD. FDI reached 10.86 billion USD, 93% over the same period last year.

The Prime Minister requested members of the Government to analyze thoroughly what have been done and what have not, especially the limitations and challenges in production and business.

He called for solutions to overcome difficulties and achieve better results in the second quarter and the last months of the year.
