PM Pham Minh Chinh urges for high vigilance against pandemic

(VOVWORLD) - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, Head of the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control, hosted a meeting on Saturday to review COVID-19 response efforts over the past week and work out solutions in the coming time.

According to a report of the Committee, the rate of new COVID-19 infections in the community in hotspot provinces has fallen against previous weeks while the mortality rate nationwide dropped 30% on daily basis. Among 23 cities and provinces under social distancing, 8 have contained the pandemic, and 12 are on the right track to meet disease control criteria while HCM City, Binh Duong, and Kien Giang are required to take stronger measures to contain the pandemic. More than 27 million doses have COVID-19 vaccines have been administered and more than 103 million doses of vaccines are expected to be delivered to Vietnam by the end of this year.

The Prime Minister urged for high vigilance against pandemic and early and prompt prevention activities to contain the pandemic, prevent green areas from becoming red areas,  and soon resume normal life.
