PM reiterates willingness to cooperate with Laos in building self-reliant economy

(VOVWORLD) -Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh affirmed that the Party, State and people of Vietnam attach importance and give highest priority to consolidating, preserving and strengthening the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation with Laos.

Prime Minister Chinh received Khamphan Phommathat, Head of the Central Anti-Corruption Commission and President of Lao State Inspection Authority, in Hanoi on Monday. Mr. Chinh said Vietnam is ready to cooperate with and support Laos in building an independent and self-reliant economy.

He suggested that the Party inspection agency and state inspectorate of the two countries coordinate to develop a plan to effectively implement high-level agreements, existing cooperation mechanisms, and results of the 46th session of the Vietnam-Laos Intergovernmental Committee.

The Prime Minister reiterated Vietnam’s willingness to share with Laos macroeconomic management, especially monetary and fiscal policy and support Laos to successfully undertake international responsibilities in 2024, including the ASEAN Chairmanship.

Khamphan Phommathat said that the high-ranking Lao delegation had a very successful discussion with the Vietnamese Government Inspectorate on inspection work, citizen reception, settlement of complaints and denunciations and prevention and combat of corruption.

The Lao agencies continue to make efforts and contribute to preserving and strengthening the friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation with Vietnam, he said.
