PM Chinh said Vietnam considers the US one of its most important partners. In a joint statement on upgrading Vietnam-US ties to a comprehensive strategic partnership and at a meeting between the Vietnamese PM and US President Joe Biden last month, the two sides called cooperation in sci-tech, digital transformation, and innovation "a breakthrough in bilateral ties".

The PM asked Amazon to share with Vietnam its expertise in developing e-commerce, cross-border trade, and cloud computing, help Vietnam train a workforce in e-commerce, business management, logistics, and system optimization, and support small and medium-sized enterprises in digital transformation, branding, and joining global supply chains.

Pointer said Amazon will engage more in Vietnam's digital transformation, develop e-commerce and cloud computing, raise awareness, provide skills training for the Vietnamese workforce, and collaborate with Vietnamese enterprises in producing and bring its products and services to the world.
