PM urges Vinh Long province to leverage resources for development

(VOVWORLD) -Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said that Vinh Long province needs to leverage its resources; focus on emerging industries: green transformation, digital, circular, sharing, and knowledge economy; and take innovation as the main driving force.

At the conference announcing Vinh Long Provincial Planning for the period 2021-2030, vision to 2050 and Investment Promotion on Saturday, PM Chinh stressed the need to develop a transport system connecting the region to create new development space, boost public investment, create favorable policy mechanisms, reform administrative procedures, and improve the investment and business environment. Priority should be given to investment in education and training, high-quality human resources and digital human resources.

Vinh Long, a province in the Mekong Delta region, is located between two major economic centers of Ho Chi Minh City and Can Tho City, with convenient access by both road and waterway. It has great economic development potential. There are rivers and mangrove forests and conditions to develop agriculture and tourism.

The Prime Minister called on businesses and investors to map out a long-term, sustainable business strategy, properly deliver investment commitments and cooperation agreements, correct orientation and priority according to provincial planning, and support and actively contribute to the development of the province. PM Chinh said he believes that with its potential and advantages, Vinh Long will attract more domestic and foreign investors.
