PM welcomes Japanese counterpart

(VOVWORLD) - Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc on Monday held talks in Hanoi with Japanese Prime Minister Suga Yoshihide, who is on an official visit to Vietnam, his first foreign visit since taking office last month.

The two leaders discussed bilateral ties, the COVID-19 pandemic, ways to boost two-way trade, and the resumption of Vietnam-Japan commercial flights. There was a ceremony to pledge cooperation in justice, the environment, anti-terrorism, industrial zones, electricity, healthcare, among others.

Prime Minister Suga is scheduled to meet with Party General Secretary and President Nguyen Phu Trong and National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan.

Vietnam is Vietnam’s leading important economic partner, largest official development assistance (ODA) provider, second biggest investor, third largest tourism partner and fourth largest trade partner.
