(VOVworld)- The Politburo on Saturday had a working session with the Standing Committee of Quang Ninh Provincial Party’s Committee.

The Secretary of Quang Ninh Provincial Party’s Committee Pham Minh Chinh presented a report on the Project on enhancing rapid and sustainable economic development, ensuring national security and defense and piloting the construction of Van Don and Mong Cai special economic zones. The project aims to develop Quang Ninh into an economic locomotive of the North and reform economic growth. The province aims to achieve a GDP growth rate of 14% by 2020 with GDP per capital reaching 4,000 USD by 2015 and 8,000 USD by 2020. In an address, Party leader Nguyen Phu Trong highlighted the province’s strategic location in terms of economics, politics, culture, national defense and security. He said the province is like Vietnam’s miniature and stressed the need to tap into local potential. "Today’s discussion and presentations are precious documents for the Politburo’s consideration. Quang Ninh province, central agencies, ministries and sectors are responsible for the development of Quang Ninh province. I propose ministries and sectors to work with Quang Ninh province to prepare documents for the project to submit to the Government’s Party Personnel Committee and the Politburo for consideration", said Party leader Nguyen Phu Trong..
