Preparations for Vietnam-China border defence exchange

(VOVWORLD) -Deputy Minister of National Defence Sen. Lieutenant General Nguyen Chi Vinh has requested military units in the northern border province of Cao Bang to prepare for the fifth Vietnam-China border defence friendship exchange program.

At a working session with local authorities on Tuesday, Vinh asked the military units to coordinate with Cao Bang province to complete infrastructure for the program.

The border defence friendship exchange program will take place in Cao Bang’s Phuc Hoa district and China’s Longzhou district. It will comprise a welcome ceremony for the two countries’ defence delegates, seminars, cultural and sport exchanges, a ceremony to salute demarcation markers, a joint patrol on the border river, and a ceremony to launch a centre for cultural exchange and tourism promotion at the Ta Lung international border gate.

People living in the border localities of Vietnam and China will receive free health check-ups and medicines, and take part in cultural activities before the program begins.
