At a press conference following the meeting, French Foreign Minister and COP21 President Laurent Fabius acknowledged the determination of representatives to adopt a comprehensive legal document to replace the Kyoto Protocol on global climate change.

During the 3-day meeting, the World Bank (WB) and the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) released reports detailing the serious human impacts of climate change. The WB said global warming has caused lean crops and plunged 100 million people into poverty. The WMO report said the green house effect reached a record high in 2014 and is likely to break that record in 2015.
