During his visit to the Cathedral Church of the Ho Chi Minh City’s Archdiocese on Friday, the President said that Vietnamese religious followers, including Catholics, have promoted their patriotism and contributed to national construction and defense thanks to the care of the Party, State, and local administrations. Life for Catholic people has constantly improved and the dioceses have been upgraded so that dignitaries and followers can wholeheartedly practise their religion and undertake citizens’ responsibilities. There has also been stronger unity between Catholics and other communities. President Tran Dai Quang said he hoped Catholic dignitaries and followers would continue to help build Vietnam into a strong, democratic, fair, and civilized country.
