(VOVworld)- President Tran Dai Quang on Wednesday in Hanoi met separately with Cuban Ambassador to Vietnam Herminio Lopez Diaz.

Mr. Quang said he believes that the Cuban people will gain greater achievements in building a socialist, independent, free, and prosperous country. The President praised the Cuba-Vietnam cooperation in trade, construction, the production of consumer goods, health care and biological technologies. He reiterated that both countries will continue to exchange experiences in reforms and international integration for socialist development.

On the same day, during his reception for Ambassador and Head of the EU Delegation in Vietnam Bruno Angelet, President Tran Dai Quang hailed the positive developments in bilateral cooperation in trade, investment, and development.

He called on the EU to quickly finalize the legal review of the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) so that both sides will sign and approve the deal.  The President asked for the EU’s continued assistance to achieve Vietnam’s sustainable development goals and improve its adaptations to climate change. Ambassador Bruno Angelet outlined the proposals for bolstering trade and investment between the two sides that are on the agenda for the upcoming visit of the President of the European Council.
