President Truong Tan Sang at Nha Trang Sea Festival 2013

(VOVworld) – President Truong Tan Sang attended the opening of the Nha Trang Sea Festival "Sea Rendezvous" 2013 on Saturday night in Nha Trang city. The festival consists of 4 programs, which all depict a coastal city from its foundation to development period. The biannual event, which began in 2003, promotes economic, cultural and tourism potential of Khanh Hoa province and calls for further investment. Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Hoang Tuan Anh applauded provincial authorities for effectively utilizing natural resources, maintaining high economic growth and contributing to Vietnam’s tourism achievements: “I call on Khanh Hoa and other south-central coastal provinces to continue to adopt incentives to attract investment, develop sea-island tourism and high quality services, while promoting cultural heritages and regional linkage. Efforts should be made to increase international cooperation and human resource development, combine tourism development and environmental protection, and safeguard national territorial waters”.

On Sunday morning, the Board of Coordinators of Central Coastal Region and Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee hosted a symposium on ways to develop regional tourism products.

The same day, Radio the Voice of Vietnam and Khanh Hoa Radio and TV Station held a talk show themed “Combination of sea protection and sustainable tourism development”. Sea economists discussed measures to protect sea environment and improve incomes of locals.
