President visits Military Region 1
(VOVWORLD) - President Tran Dai Quang has requested that Military Region 1 armed forces be ready to deter hostile forces from taking advantage of ethnic and religious issues to undermine national unity and sabotage the Party and State.

Visiting Military Region 1 on Monday on the occasion of the 73rd anniversary of the Vietnam People’s Army, the President stressed the strategic position of the region, and required them to coordinate with ministries and agencies in crime prevention, and contribute to protecting national independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.
The President also offered incense at President Ho Chi Minh’s Monument House in Thai Nguyen province.
Established in 1946, Military Region 1 covers 6 northeastern provinces with a population of 6 million.
