President’s visit to boost strategic partnership with China

(VOVworld) – President Truong Tan Sang will pay a state visit to China at the invitation of President Xi Jinping from June 19th to 21st. China’s Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Hua Chun Ying told a VOV Beijing-based correspondent that China hopes that the visit would help to boost the comprehensive cooperation and strategic partnership between the two countries. Hua Chun Ying said that during the visit, President Xi Jinping and other senior Chinese officials will hold talks with the Vietnamese President on bilateral ties and regional and international issues of mutual concern: “China and Vietnam are important neighbors and cooperative partners. Both countries are in an important process of reform and development. Bilateral ties have been developing steadily. China hopes that the visit by President Sang will further political trust between the two countries and strengthen bilateral cooperation in multilateral issues as well as elevate the Vietnam-China comprehensive cooperation and strategic partnership.”

Hua Chun Ying said that Vietnam and China are negotiating toward signing a number of cooperation agreements in politics, defense, economics, and trade.
