At a conference reviewing of EVN’s performance in 2019 and looking forward to 2020 in Hanoi on Wednesday, Prime Minister Phuc said: “It’s essential to ensure the electricity supply for the economy. Power shortage is not allowed. It’s a command. Electricity is not only a medium of development but also of social security and safety. The electricity sector has to well manage the electric grid.”

The PM directed EVN to speed up the implementation of key electricity projects and improve its efficiency and competitiveness to better meet social demand.

Vietnam’s electricity access index in 2019 was ranked 27th among 190 countries in the world and 4th in ASEAN, surpassing the set target two years ahead of schedule.
