Professor Nguyen Tai Thu, King of Vietnamese acupuncture, dies at 90
(VOVWORLD) -Professor Nguyen Tai Thu, President of the Vietnam Acupuncture Association, who was dubbed the King of acupuncture, passed away on Sunday at the age of 90.

Professor Thu devoted himself to the traditional medicine of Vietnam as he wrote dozens of books on acupuncture and Oriental medicine theory such as neo-acupuncture, hydro-acupuncture, atrial acupuncture, and electro- acupuncture. They are study manual for thousands of medical staff today.
Professor Thu's acupuncture technique for drug addiction treatment with a reliever rate of 90% has been licensed by the Ministry of Health and introduced to nearly 50 countries. His electrical anesthesia method for surgery which is 98.3% effective has been performed in 100,000 surgeries.
Before his death, he was Vice President of the World Acupuncture Association, President of the Vietnam Acupuncture Association and President of Vietnam Relief Association for Disabled Children.
