Promoting Central Highlands cultural values

(VOVworld) – A symposium on the culture of the Central Highlands opened in Buon Ma Thuot city on Thursday to review the history, development, and present state of the Central Highlands’ culture.

The delegates discussed measures to preserve and promote its culture to contribute to socio-economic development, national security and defense. Vu Ngoc Hoang, Deputy Head of the Commission for Communication and Education of the Party Central Committee, said: "The development of ethnic groups in the Central Highlands is at the core of the region’s culture. After identifying the targets, we need to work out specific measures. In addition to effort of the Central Highlanders, we need to offer them conditions to develop. The State, government, and Vietnamese people have to reserve the best conditions for the Central Highlands."

The delegates said that since the issuance of the Party resolution on building and developing an advanced Vietnamese culture filled with traditional identities, together with a thorough direction within the political system and with the people’s support, the Central Highlands has achieved results in economic, cultural, and social development. Regional social and political security has been maintained, national unity has been consolidated, and people’s spiritual and material lives have been improved.
