A large number of locals come to watch and cheer on the racing boats.

The race attracted 19 teams, including 11 male teams and 8 female teams, with  a total of 500 rowers.

Boat racing is locals' favorite sport, said Tran Dinh Anh, the Deputy Director of Quang Nam Radio-Television Station and also the Head of the event's organizing committee. In the past 26 years, this event has been well received by Quang Nam people. 

"Our traditional boat race is not only a competition, but also a traditional cultural beauty that is unique to Quang Nam. The event aims to preserve and promote the traditional sport of boat racing, meeting people's demand for sport and cultural activities, encouraging everyone to exercise, improve their health for better productivity and flood prevention," Anh said.
