Queen Elizabeth II sat in on a Cabinet meeting at number 10 Downing Street for the first time on Tuesday to listen to a discussion of domestic and foreign policies. The visit has put Queen Elizabeth’s mark on the history of UK politics. Doctor Jane Ridley, who wrote a biography of King Edward VII, said this event is a test of the UK Royals influence on politics. According to former government official Lord O’Donnell, the visit of the Queen is evidence of her political power and he said the Cabinet wanted to express its gratitude for her 60 years on the throne.
