(VOVWORLD) - The Petya ransomware, similar to the WannaCry virus which appeared last month, seems to have re-infected computer systems across Europe, causing damage in Ukraine, Russia, England, and India, a Swiss government information technology agency said on Tuesday.

A new version of the ransomware, named “Petrwrap”, exploits a vulnerability in the Server Message Block system on Windows computers, according to the Swiss Reporting and Analysis Centre for Information Assurance.
