(VOVWORLD) - The 43rd ASEAN Summit will take place at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC), Central Jakarta, on September 5-7, 2023, and will be attended by some 26 countries, according to the Indonesian Ministry of Information and Public Communication.

Director General of Information and Public Communication of the Ministry of Communication and Informatics, Usman Kansong, stated that the 43rd ASEAN Summit will discuss follow-up issues pertaining to further cooperation with countries outside the region.
Moreover, important issues for developing countries in the ASEAN will be discussed at the forum, he stated.
"The summit will discuss several issues, including the Code of Conduct regarding the South China Sea, the Southeast Asia Nuclear Weapon-Free Zone (SEANFWZ), and then also the ASEAN Maritime Outlook, ASEAN Outlook in Indo Pacific (AOIP), and issues related to Myanmar," he stated during a press conference titled "Road to ASEAN Summit" in Jakarta, Friday.
Apart from ASEAN member countries, other delegates, including Australia, India, China, Japan, South Korea, Russia, the United States, Canada, and representatives of the United Nations (UN), will attend the summit, Kansong remarked.
