RoK to promote cultural, people-to-people exchanges with ASEAN
(VOVWORLD) - Republic of Korea President Moon Jae-in on Sunday vowed to promote cultural and people-to-people exchanges and expand practical cooperation with ASEAN.

President Moon tweeted the promise before departing for Brunei on the first leg of a tour that also includes visits to Malaysia and Cambodia. Moon said he hopes the RoK will cooperate more with ASEAN in energy, infrastructure, technology, and defense. The RoK has been pushing a "New Southern Policy" designed to cement ties with ASEAN, which is a crucial partner for Korea because of its growth potential, rich resources, and growing diplomatic influence.
