Russia: EU not honoring promises on grain deal

(VOVWORLD) - Russia said Wednesday that work to unblock Russian exports under the Black Sea grain deal was unsatisfactory, accusing the European Union of failing to deliver on its promises regarding lifting restrictions on Russian grain and fertilizer exports.

In a statement, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko said the EU is not keeping its promises and the work done is unsatisfactory. The European Commission has made it clear that even though there are no sanctions on Russian agricultural operators, sanctions still apply on shipping and production.

Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak said on Wednesday that the EU adding "exemptions" to its price cap on oil products shows that Russian oil is still in demand. Russia, he said, will decide on countermeasures to the EU oil products embargo by March.
