Russian humanitarian corridors in Ukraine start on Tuesday

(VOVWORLD) - Russia has implemented a ceasefire and is ready to provide humanitarian corridors in Ukraine starting from 10AM (2PM Vietnam time) on Tuesday, TASS news agency quoted the Russian Interagency Coordination Headquarters for Humanitarian Relief on Monday.

Humanitarian corridors cover Kyiv, Chernihiv, Kharkiv, Sumy and Mariupol. Civilians started leaving the besieged Ukrainian city of Sumy on Tuesday, Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk said in a televised statement.

More sanctions against Russia have been made following Russia’s military operation in Ukraine.

Japan has frozen the assets of an additional 32 Russian and Belarusian officials and oligarchs and is banning exports of Russia-bound oil refinery equipment and Belarus-bound general-purpose items that could be used by its military.

Australia has imposed financial sanctions and travel bans on six high-ranking Russian military commanders while Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced sanctions on 10 Russian individuals.
