Russian President phones Syrian, Iranian, and Saudi Arabian leaders to discuss ceasefire plan
(VOVworld) – On Wednesday, Russian President Vladimir Putin held telephone conversations with the Iranian and Syrian Presidents and Saudi Arabia’s King about the US-Russian agreement on a ceasefire in Syria.

President Putin and Iranian President Hassan Rouhani discussed initiatives and proposals, acknowledging the importance of Russia-Iran cooperation in resolving the Syrian conflict and defeating the Islamic State, al-Nusra, and other terrorist groups listed by the UN. While talking with President Putin, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad said Syria is ready to support a ceasefire.
In his conversation with Saudi Arabia’s King Salman, Putin presented in detail the US-Russian agreement. King Salman praise the agreement and expressed his readiness to cooperate with Russia to make it work.
