The Russian lower house of parliament, State Duma approved former President Dmitry Mevedev as the new Prime Minister on Tuesday. Speaking at the plenary session, Mevedev announced that he will continue the policies of economic modernization, anti-corruption, reducing poverty and unemployment rate. Under Russian Constitution, Mevedev will officially become new Prime Minister of the country after an appointment decree signed by President Putin.
