Security and defense cooperation a pillar of Vietnam-Russia ties: Party leader and President
(VOVWORLD) - Party General Secretary and President Nguyen Phu Trong on Wednesday expressed his hope that Vietnam and Russia will continue to strengthen and expand cooperation in traditional and non-traditional security for the benefit of the two peoples, peace and stability.
Receiving Secretary of Russia’s Security Council Nikolai Patrushev in Hanoi on Wednesday, Mr. Trong said security and defense cooperation is one of the pillars of the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries. He highly appreciated the results of cooperation between the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and the Security Council of Russia, saying that the visit of the high-level delegation of the Security Council shows the friendship and close cooperation relationship between the two sides.
The Security Council Secretary said Russia wants the comprehensive strategic partnership with Vietnam to continue to be strengthened and developed in the context of complicated developments worldwide.
