(VOVworld) – The National Assembly’s Committee on National Defense and Security organized a seminar in Ninh Binh province on Thursday to discuss national defense-related issues in the revised Criminal Law, the law on temporary arrest and detention, that on referendum, and the law on information safety.

Most of the delegates agreed that some articles in the Criminal Law needed further debate.
They said that limiting the death penalty to some crimes showed a humanitarian spirit, matching global development trends. But in the current political and security situation, it’s necessary to consider the death penalty for some crimes to balance the interests of the victims.
