(VOVworld) - Images of Hanoi during the 12 days and nights when US imperialists bombed the city in 1972 have been reproduced through the accounts of eyewitnesses.

At a seminar in Hanoi yesterday organized by the French school of Asian studies, Phung Tuu Boi said that in those hellish moments, Hanoians weren’t anxious to continue working or fighting ‘There were many bomb shelters of various sizes dug in a house, even under the bed. The shelters were part of everybody’s life, including adults, children, senior officials, and ordinary citizens.’ On this occasion, a book entitled ‘Confronting B52’s area bombing – Hanoi’s memories’ was introduced. This is a study by many authors of life in the capital city and northern provinces when the US carpet-bombed there.
