Addressing the event, Vietnamese Ambassador Truong Manh Son told the participants about Vietnam’s outstanding achievements in the economy and external relations during the 30-year renewal process. Vietnam has established diplomatic ties with 185 countries and strategic partnerships with major countries, while promoting economic, trade, and investment relations with 224 markets on every continent. Vietnam has signed more than 500 bilateral and multilateral agreements and attracted nearly 260 billion USD in foreign direct investment (FDI).  The Communist Party of Vietnam has relationships with over 200 political parties, mostly communist, leftist, and workers parties, including the KSCM.

Ambassador Son briefed the participants on the East Sea situation, affirming Vietnam’s policy of firmly safeguarding the nation’s independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity, and addressing disputes by peaceful means based on international law.  He then answered KSCM members’ queries on Vietnam’s current socio-economic situation, and its policies for Vietnamese people abroad, including those in the Czech Republic.
