(VOVWORLD) - A Shrimp Technology Fair and Exhibition opens in Can Tho city on Wednesday. Managers, scientists, business people, and farmers introduced new technology for farming shrimp and connect production and purchases to raise productivity and quality.

Director General of Directorate of Fisheries Tran Dinh Luan said: “The Fair, which is themed “Sustainable destination,” is a venue for managers, business people, and farmers to exchange experience in sustainable farmed shrimp production. They can access the latest technology to develop the shrimp industry.”
Vietnam has 200,000 ha of high-tech shrimp farm. Contributing 7% to the average global shrimp growth rate, Vietnam can become a leading shrimp producer, accounting for one fourth of the global market. Vietnam’s shrimp industry targets to export 4 billion USD this year.
