Song and poetry contest highlights Vietnamese sea
(VOVworld ) - An award ceremony for a song and poetry contest on Vietnamese sea was held in Hanoi yesterday. Launched last August, the contest received more than 1,500 entries. Chairman of the Vietnam Writers’ Association, Huu Thinh addressed the event: "The contest evokes the deep emotions of Vietnamese people for their homeland of which the sea is a part. It helps to overcome shortcomings in our literature and promote noble values".
Special prizes were given to Nguyen Thuy Kha for a symphony inspired by memories of Truong Sa or Spratly archipelago and Nguyen Ton Nghiem for a symphony in praise of heroic naval soldiers.
