Spokesman Kim Min-seok said South Korea touted on Thursday a cruise missile capable of hitting targets in the North "anywhere, at any time". It will also boost the development of a ballistic missile system with a range of 800 km, based on its Missile Agreement with the US. The announcement was released one day following North Korea’s third nuclear test.

The UN Security Council has accused Pyongyang’s nuclear test saying it seriously violates the UN resolutions and threatens international peace and security. The US, South Korea, and Japan also strong denounced the test.
