(VOVworld) – On Tuesday, the steering committee for the southwestern region met with former revolutionaries and Buddhist dignitaries in Mekong Delta provinces to mark the Khmer Chol Chnam Thmay festival.

In his address, President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Nguyen Thien Nhan praised the contributions of the Khmer to the development of Vietnam and the southwestern region. He said: “In addition to increasing awareness and living conditions, the Khmer people should remain united and build new-style cooperatives to adapt to climate change.”

10 individuals received certificates of merit for their contributions to the preservation of traditional Khmer artistic values.
