Nguyen Ngoc Binh, President of the Vietnamese Students Association in Japan, takes the solidarity reflected in the tsunami in Japan on March 11, 2011 as an example:“One day after we appealed for help for the Japanese people on March 12, a 10-year old girl came to our office to give us 20,000 VND or 1 USD to help the victims. She rode for 15 km to our office and it was her money for breakfast. There were many other moving stories like that. The then Japanese Prime Minister sent a letter to thank the Vietnamese people for their deep feelings for his people”.

In their presentations at the workshop, the Secretary General of the Japanese- Vietnamese Friendship Parliamentary Union Koizumi Toshiaki, the Secretary General of the Japanese- Vietnamese Friendship Peace Council Shigeharu and President of the Japanese- Vietnamese Friendship Association pledged to do their utmost to boost relations between the two countries.
