(VOVworld) – Svay Rieng province’s governor Chieng Am criticized a visit on Sunday by Cambodian National Rescue Party (CNRP) senators to the Vietnam-Cambodia border between Svay Rieng and Long An province. The visit by 1000 people to the border of the two countries could have caused social disorder there, said Chieng Am. He insisted that the governments of Cambodia and Vietnam want to build a borderline of peace, stability, cooperation, and development.

On June 28, several CNRP senators led 250 Cambodian people to border marker 203 in Long An province which is under the management of Vietnam. Vietnamese security forces and local people who tried to stop the Cambodians were attacked and 7 Vietnamese people were injured. Following this incident, the two Foreign Ministries established a joint task-force to investigate the incident and work to avoid similar incidents in the future.
