The designer wanted to pay homage to the two sisters Trung named "Hai Ba Trung", two Vietnamese heroines from the first century who repelled Chinese attacks for three years.

"Hai Ba Trung" is a Westminster flying tourbillon minute repeater provided with a four jaquemart automatons featuring Hai Ba Trung, according to the Swiss watchmaker.

An entirely handmade miniature painting by André Martinez is therefore placed in the new painting of the Legend unique piece collection of Christophe Claret.

The Westminster minute repeater mechanism allows watch wearers to play a musical tune when the quarters ring. Each quarter features a different ringtone, including C D E G, G D E C, and E G D C. These sounds come through a collaboration between Claret and a virtuoso violinist and provide notes with optimal quality.

The model’s price is estimated to be at around US$714,000 to US$747,000, equivalent to more than VND15 billion.

The collection was unveiled by Claret in 2021, aiming to honor famous historical figures from global history. Recently, images and specific information about the special-edition watches were announced by the Swiss watchmaker.

The Trung sisters - Trung Trac and Trung Nhi - were Vietnamese military leaders who ruled for three years after rebelling in AD 40 against Chinese attacks. They are regarded as national heroines referred to as “Hai Ba Trung”.
