(VOVWORLD) -The Swiss government said Wednesday it will host a Ukraine peace conference from June 15 to 16 at the Bürgenstock hotel above Lake Lucerne in central Switzerland.

To prepare for the talks, since the beginning of the year Switzerland has been holding discussions with the EU, the G7 member countries, China and India.
There is currently sufficient international support for a high-level peace conference, Switzerland's Federal Council said in a statement. Swiss officials have not yet announced the full list of countries who will participate in the upcoming conference.
The conference will be based on the Ukrainian President’s 10-point proposal to end the conflict. Swiss Foreign Minister Ignazio Cassis said “Peace cannot be achieved without all the parties to the conflict onboard.”
Russia has repeatedly affirmed its readiness for dialogue, which must be based on the actual situation and take into account Russia's legitimate interests.
