Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung and Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam at the meeting

(VOVworld)- Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung and Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam co-chaired a meeting on ways to tackle difficulties in drug detoxification with the functional authorities of Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh city. In his address, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung said that the increase in drug addicts impacted people’s health but also social order and security. He said the government would propose that the National Assembly pilot a Centre for Compulsory Drug Detoxification. Dung asked the relevant ministries and agencies, especially localities to increase communications and education to persuade drug addicts to enter centres for voluntary drug detoxification through a Methadone treatment program.
