(VOVWORLD) - The National Agriculture Extension Center held a workshop on Wednesday in Quang Ngai province on applying technology application to offshore fishing and seafood exploitation and preservation.

The Center has promoted advances such as cell freezing technology, machines that produce ice from sea water, and equipment that improves seafood harvesting efficiency and reduces fuel costs. Kim Van Tieu, Deputy Head of the Center, said the seafood sector’s goal is to reduce catch losses to less than 15 percent by 2030.
He said: “We will use more modern equipment and apply advanced technology to increase fishing productivity. Quick cooling technology is being used to preserve fish after they are caught.”
