Chairman of the Nam Dinh City People’s Committee Le Quoc Chinh hailed the great merits of Tran Dynasty, which reigned in the 13th and 14th century and said the seal-opening ceremony symbolized the hope of peace and prosperity for the people as well as favorable conditions and bumper crops. The ceremony began with an incense offering at Thien Truong Temple, which worships the fourteen kings of the Tran Dynasty, followed by a procession from the Co Trach shrine to Thien Truong Temple, where the seal-opening ritual took place.  Replicas of the seal were given to pilgrims and visitors. They are believed to bring the recipients happiness and success in the New Year.
