(VOVworld)-These days prior to Tet, people living near the Vietnam-Laos boundary, in the Huong Hoa district, Quang Tri province  and border defending soldiers stationed here excitedly preparing for Tet, with the hope for a bumper crop and peaceful year.

Mr Ho Van Thanh, Party Committee Secretary of  Huong Viet commune, Huong Hoa district said: “During the year, the socio-economic development has achieved many new progresses, with the living standard of people has improved and the number of poor families has been reduced. People here is happily enjoying the Tet atmosphere.”

Beside paying special attention to the live of people, especially the poor in the region, Huong Lap district has coordinated with soldier units stationed in the district maintain the security,  social order  and national sovereignty. Mr Ho Duc Van, Chairman of  the People's Committee of  Huong lap Commune said: “This year, people enjoy a more joyous Tet than last year. However, the communal  people committee, communal police and bounder soldiers here are on standby and ready in any circumstances.”
